Chelsea 2012: L’Occitane & Renault Gardens

Planning is underway for our two gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show this year. It promises to be a very exciting show as we will deliver a main avenue garden for cosmetic company L’Occitane, which we have designed and will construct and project manage. We are creating an Artisan garden for car giant Renault, designed by James Basson.

Both gardens are very different in style but the team are excited to be involved with such prestigious clients as we aim to bring a rustic taste of Corsica to central London in the aromatic L’Occitane garden and a slice of pure style in the chic, contemporary Renault garden.

Garden design competition imminent

We will be offering a free garden design for the winner and 3 runners up prizes of premium plant stock from our Howle Hill nursery.

Happy New Year from all at Plants & Gardens

On behalf of the whole team, we would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2012.

This year promises to be another challenging, yet interesting year for us. We continue with the Elder Yard project in Bridgend, a large-scale regeneration project that will attract prestigious restaurants and retailers to the area.

Our current projects have involved working closely with architectural engineers in the construction of an adventure playground with climbing frame and zip wire and a forthcoming project to raise levels and create a new driveway. Branching out from purely landscape gardening and adapting our skills has helped us through the most difficult times.

We have designed and will project manage, build and plant the L’Occitane garden at Chelsea this year, as well as the construction and planting of one of the Artisan Gardens for designer James Basson.

The link with London may continue with an unconfirmed project connected with this years Olympics in our capital city.

A Royal Invitation

Following on from success at the Chelsea Flower Show and much celebrated Monaco Garden, Plants & Gardens have received an invitation from Prince Albert of Monaco to celebrate the garden at the official unveiling of a specially commissioned film “The Making of A Monaco Garden”. The exciting trip takes place on 20th December and represents the culmination of a fantastic team effort.

Plants & Gardens are proud to announce The L’Occitane Garden, featuring at The Chelsea Flower Show 2012. Preaparations are well underway for the project, which we will design, build, plant and project manage. The garden is sandwiched between fellow show veterans and TV personalities Diarmuid Gavin and Chris Beardshaw. We are aiming for an 8th Gold Medal at the worlds most prestigious show. Plants & Gardens join BALI

Plants and Gardens have recently joined the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) as a full contracting member. BALI membership is reassuringly difficult to achieve and the right to display the BALI logo is bestowed only after contractors, designers and suppliers have submitted to a rigorous vetting procedure and signed up to the Association’s code of conduct.

‘The Time Garden’ scoops Best Landscape/External Space Award

‘The Time Garden’, designed by Diarmuid Gavin, project managed, built and planted by Plants & Gardens has won the Best Landscape/External Space Award at this years Building Better Healthcare awards. Selected to join a shortlist of 3, the judges commented on a ‘beautifully-designed’ project that ‘shows real thought and care for the patient pathway’, The Time Garden at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey is for the exclusive use of terminally-ill patients and their families. Plants & Gardens are exhibiting this year at The Malvern Autumn Show on the 24th & 25th September. Our stand will show an array of Japanese Maples ahead of our forthcoming specialist ecommerce website for Acers, mature trees and exotics. We have also produced informative leaflets and other merchandise for the show and welcome new enquiries, suggestions and comments.
