It is that time of year again (believe it or not with current weather conditions!) and the Chelsea build up is almost a week in. Our main avenue embankment garden that we have designed and are building and planting depicts a traditional Corsican theme that oozes Mediterranean colour and feel.

Our ‘Fresh’ garden project is sponsored by another French giant, Renault and designed by James Basson of Scape Design. Works will commence this week on this very different project, demonstrating that a waste material such as pudding stone can be used to create a garden and sustain plant life. The inspiration came from a lost valley near Nice, a Natura 2000 protected area, where an abundance of plants grows in the most unlikely environment.

Please contact us at enquiries@peterdowle.co.uk or (01531) 820345 for more information.

Pete Dowle and team will be transforming Trafalgar Square this year to celebrate St George’s day 2012. Complete with head torches, the team will work through the night on Friday April 20th, with the prestigious area, home of Nelson’s Column opening to the general public on the Saturday with entertainment provided for the whole family. It really promises to be an exciting project to work on and logistically challenging with the London Marathon the very next day. A stunning flower display surrounding the fountains, bandstand and gigantic chess set are in the offing. More details to follow…

Planning is underway for our two gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show this year. It promises to be a very exciting show as we will deliver a main avenue garden for cosmetic company L’Occitane, which we have designed and will construct and project manage. We are creating an Artisan garden for car giant Renault, designed by James Basson.

Both gardens are very different in style but the team are excited to be involved with such prestigious clients as we aim to bring a rustic taste of Corsica to central London in the aromatic L’Occitane garden and a slice of pure style in the chic, contemporary Renault garden.

With the build-up just over two weeks away, final preparations are being made for this years Chelsea Flower Show. The project, commissioned by Prince Albert II, will depict a private roof garden in Monaco. It is designed to reflect the natural topography and geography of Monaco and will be planted with a wide range of exotic plants from the region. In keeping with Prince Albert’s reputation as The Green Prince, the garden will focus on sustainability, including a flat roof system that collects rain for use in water features and a pool that is naturally filtered. Keep up to date here with our progress during the two week build up…

OK, here is the big news we have been promising for some time…our garden at next years Chelsea Flower Show is called ‘A Garden for Monaco’. Designed by Sarah Eberle and sponsored by the Principality of Monaco, this promises to be an extremely exciting project for hugely important and influential clients. Planning for the garden has been underway for several months now, with latest piece of the complex jigsaw now in place. A 3 day visit to Sicily has seen the souring and purchase of many key plant elements to the garden. Some of the plants will be transported to England, with the more exotic specimens enjoying a warmer winter in Sicily before delivery nearer to ’show time’!
